Couple marries on Valentine’s Day after meeting two weeks ago
Master Sgt. Jason and Maria Christianson met online and went on their first date almost two weeks ago.
On Friday, the couple tied the knot at the Rhinestone Wedding Chapel, noting Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to express their love for each other.
“I think we both knew from the moment we met that we wanted to be together,” said Maria Christianson.
Jason Christianson added, “We walked in and sat down to dinner together and started talking. I knew right away this was the one I wanted to be with.”
Sinkhole repairs at National Corvette Museum underway
Repairs to the Sky Dome at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky are underway Friday, two days after a giant sinkhole opened up, swallowing eight classic corvettes.
The sinkhole, estimated at 40 feet wide and 30 feet deep, caused millions of dollars in damage and shocked car enthusiasts across the globe.
“It’s almost like losing one of your kids. I don’t mean to take it that far, but if you enjoy cars, Corvettes are something special,” said museum member Dave Doezie, who has owned 15 Corvettes over the years.
He received an email about the disaster Wednesday.
Anonymous viewers help single mom keep electricity on
Last week during the frigid temperatures, NES shut off service to hundreds of customers who were behind on their bills. I interviewed resident, Dee Staten who was among those who had her service disconnected.
After the story aired, a News 2 viewer who asked to remain anonymous contacted me and said she wanted to pay the single mother of two’s $339 bill. This week, another viewer who also wishes to remain anonymous paid an additional $250 on Staten’s account to help with upcoming bills.
In an email, the donor wrote, “I am so happy to be able to do this for her. I, too, was a single mom once. I lived in a ground-level apartment with my baby boy that flooded sewage every time it rained. Needless to say, the Lord has blessed me so much over the years and it is my privilege to be able to give back, even in this small way. I know she will be blessed.”
Staten said she is touched that people who don’t even know her have helped get her life back on track.
